How it works

From the first slot to the day we take it back

A Sykla subscription is one monthly price and one rule: if it breaks, we come to you. Everything below follows from that.

01

Choose a bike

City is the everyday bike: about 70 km of range, a rack and lights. Cargo carries 100 kg in a covered box, which in practice means two children or a week of shopping.

If you are not sure, take City. The first swap in any twelve months is free, so the decision is not final.

02

Pick a delivery slot

Two-hour slots, weekdays 08 to 20 and Saturdays 10 to 16. City bikes arrive in 2 to 5 working days, Cargo bikes in 3 to 7.

You can change the slot or the address free until 18:00 the day before. After that we will offer you the next slot we have.

03

A mechanic hands it over

The bike arrives ready to ride. The mechanic sets the frame lock up on your phone, shows you the battery, and goes. There is nothing to assemble and no paperwork at the door.

The charger and the battery come with it. Charge indoors, at room temperature.

04

Lock it from the app

The frame lock opens and closes from the Sykla app, so there is no key to lose. The light on the lock body tells you where you are: out means locked, steady means unlocked, a slow blink means it is waiting to hear from us.

If the app cannot reach the bike, we can unlock it from our end. We send a one-time code by text message and open it while you are standing next to it.

05

When it breaks, we come to you

Book a mechanic in the app or tell us. We come to your address within three working days, two on a fleet bike, and the next working day if the bike is not safe to ride.

Punctures, brakes, chains, batteries and lights are covered. Damage from a crash is still repaired; whether anything is charged for it is a conversation with a person, not a rule applied by a machine.

06

Pause, swap or stop

Pause up to two months a year in whole weeks, first month free and then NOK 290 a month. The bike stays with you and the cover continues.

City and Cargo have a three-month minimum term. After that, one month of notice ends it and we collect the bike in a two-hour slot.
