City or Cargo

What each bike carries, and how to choose between them.

Two bikes, and the choice is usually about what you carry rather than how far you ride.

Sykla City

A standard electric bike with about 70 km of range, a rack and lights. It suits commuting, errands and a week of shopping in panniers. It is the lighter of the two and easier to get up a stairwell.

Sykla Cargo

A two-wheel cargo bike with a 100 kg box, a rain cover and about 60 km of range. It carries two children, a large shop, or the sort of load that would otherwise need a car. It is longer than a City bike and needs somewhere at ground level to live.

Which to take

  • Carrying children regularly: Cargo.
  • Carrying shopping and a bag: City.
  • No ground floor storage and no bike room: City.
  • Not sure: start on City. You can swap, and the first swap in any twelve months is free.
